Colorless or light yellow transparent oily liquid with pungent ammonia odor. Soluble in water, acetone, benzene, ethanol, methanol, etc., hardly soluble in n-heptane, insoluble in ether, hygroscopic, easily absorbs moisture and carbon dioxide in the air. Strongly alkaline, corrosive to copper and copper alloys. Forms white smoke in the air. The explosion limit in the air is 1% to 10%. Toxic, the allowable concentration in the air is 1μg/g.
