Uses:

It has excellent penetrating, softening, emulsifying, antistatic, biodegradable and bactericidal properties. It has good chemical stability, heat resistance, light resistance, pressure resistance, strong acid and alkali resistance. It is used as an emulsifier for natural and synthetic rubber, silicone oil and asphalt; an antistatic agent and softener for synthetic fibers, natural fibers and glass fibers; and a conditioning agent for hair conditioners.

A quaternary ammonium salt. Hygroscopic. Stable in acidic solution. White or light yellow crystals to powder, with a pungent odor, easily soluble in ethyl/isopropyl alcohol, chloroform, soluble in 10 parts of water, slightly soluble in acetone, almost insoluble in ether and benzene.
