It can be used as a catalyst for the production of polyurethane foam, a catalyst for pharmaceutical synthesis and organic synthesis, and can also be used to synthesize fine chemical products such as pharmaceuticals, pesticides, surfactants, emulsifiers, corrosion inhibitors, etc. It can also be used as a solvent, extractant and curing agent for polyurethane coatings.

4-Methylmorpholine is an organic compound with the molecular formula C5H11NO. It is a colorless liquid with an ammonia smell and is sensitive to air. It is miscible with water, ethanol , benzene and ether . It is flammable, corrosive , slightly toxic, and has a pungent smell. Inhalation of vapor is irritating to the skin and mucous membranes. The LD50 is 1970mg/kg. The maximum allowable concentration in the air is 5mg/m3.
